Minoh Part 2

Today I felt the need to get out of the city and make a second visit to Minoh and take a trek through the forest. The temperature has been about 35 degrees today so I was wondering if it was going to be too hot for a long walk but as it turned out, the path up the mountain side and through the forest was nice and cool, mainly due to the river that runs alongside the main pathway and the large waterfall that feeds it.

Supposedly there are monkeys in this forest but I am yet to come across one, there are many signs warning of large fines if caught feeding them!

I have also added a few movie files which I filmed on my ipod, there not of great quality but I thought they may be of some interest.

Sewage Science Museum

One downside of living in the area we are in is that our block of flats is situated next door to a sewage treatment plant. For most of the time, this isn't a problem, however, on a hot day when the wind is blowing in the wrong direction its advisable to close the windows!

But its not all bad, the upside to this is we have the sewage science museum across the road! Not sold on the idea? Well, I can understand some hesitation but this museum is actually one of the most fun I have been to! For a start, its totally free and there are six floors of interactive sewage entertainment to enjoy.

You can take a ride on a simulator that takes you on a journey around various underground locations around the world and play a video game atop a drilling machine, navigating your way around a sewer, avoiding alligators and suspicious looking men. There is also a 3d movie to enjoy and many interactive models with plenty of buttons to keep kids occupied. In addition to all this, on the top floor there is a greenhouse where vegetables are grown which gives a nice view of Yodo River.

I would definitely recommend a visit to the sewage science museum if you are in the area, their website can be seen here.

The sewage treatment plant. I wonder what they keep in those tanks?

Flower Gardens and Sunsets

Its been some time since my last post, mainly due to not much of major interest happening, but I thought I would post a few random photos of I took over the last month.

Firstly, a few photos from a flower garden that I visited with my wife and mother in law in the south of Osaka, where they are from. Plenty of moss to be seen!

And secondly, some photos I took of an amazing sunset as seen from our flat.
